1. Introduction
This Refund Policy governs all purchases made from Pineda Method Pte. Ltd. (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “Company”) through our website at https://pinedamethod.com/mentorship, by direct payment invoice, or through any other purchasing channel we make available.
We are committed to delivering high-quality education and personalised coaching through our programs. However, we also recognise that circumstances can change.
Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Refund Policy.
This policy does not affect any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection legislation, including Singapore’s Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act (CPFTA) and, for Australian consumers, the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Please refer to Section 13 for jurisdiction-specific details.
2. Our Products and Services
We offer the following products and services (collectively, “Programs”):
| Product | Type | Duration | Currency |
| 1:1 Mentorship – 3 Month | Private Mentorship | 3 months | USD |
| 1:1 Mentorship – 6 Month | Private Mentorship | 6 months | USD |
| Pineda Method Academy | Group Mentorship (Cohort) | 6 months | USD |
| Skool Community | DIY Online Community | Monthly subscription | USD |
| Circle Membership | Lifetime Access (DIY) | Lifetime / one-time | USD |
| Standalone Digital Courses | On-demand video courses | Lifetime access | USD |
All programs include digital and/or live components. Once digital content is accessed or live sessions are commenced, the nature of the service means that full monetary restoration may not always be possible or appropriate. Our refund terms are set out by product type in Section 4.
3. General Refund Philosophy
Our programs require genuine commitment. Success in dance development — particularly the kind of deep, sustained improvement the Pineda Method is designed to support — requires active participation, consistent practice, and engagement with the program. We select our clients carefully through an application process and invest significant personalised effort from the moment of enrolment.
Our refund policy is designed to:
- Protect clients who purchase in good faith but encounter genuine extenuating circumstances;
- Ensure fairness for clients who are actively engaged in the program;
- Prevent misuse of refund provisions by those who seek to access program content and then withdraw;
- Reflect the real costs and effort invested in personalised mentorship from the point of enrolment.
Important: Dissatisfaction with results attributable to insufficient participation, incomplete engagement, or failure to follow program guidance does not constitute grounds for a refund. Our programs are designed to support meaningful development in dance ability when students actively engage with the content and coaching provided.
4. Refund Policy by Product
4.1 — 1:1 Mentorship Programs (3-Month & 6-Month)
Our 1:1 Mentorship Programs are personalised, high-touch programs that involve bespoke coaching, direct access to Oliver Pineda, scheduled sessions, customised feedback, and significant preparation prior to and after each session.
- Prior to programme commencement: If you notify us in writing at least 7 days before your scheduled start date, you are entitled to a full refund of any amounts paid, less a non-refundable administration fee of USD $200.
- Within 72 hours of programme commencement (no sessions attended): A full refund less the non-refundable administration fee of USD $200 may be granted at our discretion for genuine extenuating circumstances.
- After first session is attended or 72 hours from commencement (whichever is earlier): No refunds will be issued. If you are on a payment plan, you remain liable for all outstanding instalments.
- Mid-programme cancellation: No partial refunds will be issued for the portion of the programme unused. Payment plan instalments continue to be due as scheduled regardless of your level of participation.
Programme Pause: In exceptional circumstances (e.g., serious medical illness evidenced by a doctor’s certificate, family bereavement), we may at our sole discretion offer a programme pause of up to 30 days. A pause does not entitle you to a refund. Please contact us promptly if you are facing such circumstances.
4.2 — Pineda Method Academy (Group Cohort)
The Pineda Method Academy is a group mentorship programme delivered to cohorts of students simultaneously. Cohort spots are limited, and enrolment closes once the cohort is filled.
- More than 14 days before cohort start date: Full refund less a non-refundable administration fee of USD $200.
- 7–14 days before cohort start date: 50% refund of the total programme fee (or total amount paid if on a payment plan) less USD $200 administration fee.
- Less than 7 days before cohort start date: No refund. Your spot has been held, cohort planning has been finalised, and your place cannot be reallocated on short notice.
- After cohort commencement: No refunds will be issued. Payment plan instalments remain due.
Cohort deferral: If you are unable to commence the cohort on the scheduled date, we will make reasonable efforts to place you in the next available cohort, subject to availability, at no additional cost (one deferral only, within 6 months).
4.3 — Skool Community (Monthly Subscription)
The Skool Community is a monthly rolling subscription granting access to our online community, on-demand course library, and structured learning pathways.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your Skool subscription at any time. Your access will continue until the end of the current billing period, after which your subscription and access will terminate.
- Refunds: Monthly subscription fees are non-refundable once the billing period has commenced. We do not provide pro-rated refunds for partial months.
- First month: If you cancel within 48 hours of your first subscription payment and have not accessed the course content or community, you may request a full refund of your first month’s fee.
4.4 — Circle Membership (One-Time Lifetime Access)
The Circle Membership is a one-time payment granting lifetime access to the designated membership community and content library.
- Within 48 hours of purchase, no content accessed: Full refund available upon written request, subject to verification that no content has been accessed or downloaded.
- After 48 hours or after any content has been accessed: No refunds. The digital nature of the product and the immediate delivery of lifetime access mean that we are unable to offer refunds once content has been accessed.
4.5 — Standalone Digital Courses
Standalone on-demand digital courses are delivered immediately upon purchase.
- Within 48 hours of purchase, no content accessed: Full refund available upon written request.
- After 48 hours or after any module has been accessed: No refunds.
5. Cooling-Off Period
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have a statutory right to cancel a purchase within a cooling-off period. This policy is designed to honour applicable cooling-off rights:
- Singapore CPFTA / Australian Consumer Law: See Section 13 for details on statutory consumer rights by jurisdiction.
- European Union (including Norway): Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU, consumers generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal from distance contracts. However, this right does not apply to digital content where delivery has begun with your express consent and acknowledgement that the right of withdrawal is thereby waived, or to services where performance has already begun at your request. We therefore ask you to provide express consent at checkout if you wish to access digital content immediately.
- Other jurisdictions: We comply with applicable statutory cooling-off rights in your jurisdiction. If you are unsure whether a statutory cooling-off period applies to you, please contact us before making a purchase.
6. Non-Refundable Circumstances
Refunds will not be issued in any of the following circumstances:
- You have changed your mind after the applicable refund window has passed;
- You cite personal circumstances unrelated to any fault on our part (e.g., change of schedule, competing priorities, loss of motivation);
- You have accessed digital content, attended sessions, or otherwise commenced the program;
- You have made insufficient effort to engage with the program content or follow the coaching provided;
- You are dissatisfied with your personal results when those results are attributable to your level of effort or adherence to program guidance rather than any deficiency in our service;
- You are in breach of our Terms and Conditions at the time of the refund request;
- Your enrolment has been terminated by us due to your misconduct or violation of our community guidelines;
- The refund request is made after the applicable time window specified in Section 4;
- You are requesting a refund in connection with a chargeback filed without first contacting us.
7. Payment Plan Obligations
Many of our higher-ticket programs are available with payment plan options (e.g., split into two, three, or more instalments). Enrolment on a payment plan constitutes a binding financial commitment to the full program fee, regardless of your ongoing participation.
By agreeing to a payment plan, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Each instalment will be charged automatically on the scheduled date using your nominated payment method;
- You are responsible for ensuring your payment method has sufficient funds;
- If an instalment fails, we will attempt to collect the payment. Persistent non-payment may result in suspension of your access and/or referral to a collections process;
- Cancelling your participation in the program does not cancel your payment plan obligations unless a valid refund has been approved under this policy;
- We reserve the right to charge a late payment fee of USD $50 per missed instalment if payment is not received within 7 days of the due date;
- All outstanding instalments may be accelerated and become immediately due if you initiate an unjustified chargeback.
8. Subscription Cancellation
To cancel a recurring subscription (e.g., Skool Community):
- Cancel directly through your Skool account settings, or
- Contact us in writing at [email protected].
Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before your next billing date to avoid being charged for the next billing period. We are not responsible for charges that occur because you did not cancel with sufficient notice.
Once cancelled, access continues until the end of the paid billing period. No pro-rated refunds are provided.
9. Chargebacks and Disputes
We take chargebacks very seriously. Before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer, we strongly encourage you to contact us directly at [email protected], as most issues can be resolved promptly and to your satisfaction.
If you initiate a chargeback:
- We will contest the chargeback with your bank and provide all relevant documentation, including proof of purchase, delivery, and your agreement to this policy;
- Your access to all Pineda Method programs and platforms will be immediately suspended pending resolution;
- If the chargeback is determined to be unjustified, all outstanding amounts under any payment plan will become immediately due and payable;
- We reserve the right to pursue outstanding amounts through debt collection processes or legal action;
- Abusive use of the chargeback process may result in permanent termination from our programs with no entitlement to a refund.
Legitimate billing errors and fraud-related chargebacks are always handled promptly and fairly.
10. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please follow these steps:
- Contact us in writing at [email protected] with the subject line: “Refund Request – [Your Full Name] – [Program Name]”
- Include in your email:
- Your full name and the email address used to purchase;
- The program you purchased and the date of purchase;
- The reason for your refund request;
- Any supporting documentation (e.g., medical certificate if applicable).
- We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and respond with a decision within 5–10 business days.
Refund requests submitted via social media, messaging apps, or unofficial channels will not be considered. All requests must be made by email.
11. Refund Processing
Approved refunds will be processed as follows:
- Refund method: Refunds will be returned to the original payment method used at purchase (credit card, bank transfer, etc.).
- Processing time: Once approved, refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days. The time for the funds to appear in your account depends on your bank or card issuer and may take an additional 3–7 business days.
- Currency: Refunds will be issued in the same currency as the original payment. We are not responsible for any exchange rate losses that occur between the date of purchase and the date of refund.
- Partial refunds: Where a partial refund is approved (e.g., for the Academy in the 7–14 day window), we will calculate the refund amount and communicate this to you before processing.
- Non-refundable fees: Administration fees and any costs already incurred in delivering the service will be deducted from any refund amount.
12. Currency and Exchange Rates
Our programs are priced in United States Dollars (USD). If you purchase in a currency other than USD:
- Your bank or payment processor will convert the amount at the exchange rate applicable at the time of the transaction;
- Any refund will be processed in the original transaction currency, and the amount returned to your account may differ from the amount originally deducted due to exchange rate fluctuations;
- We are not responsible for currency conversion fees charged by your bank or card issuer, and these will not be reimbursed.
13. Statutory Consumer Rights by Jurisdiction
Nothing in this Refund Policy is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any rights or remedies you are entitled to under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction. Where such laws apply, they take precedence over any conflicting terms in this Policy.
13.1 Singapore — Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act (CPFTA)
As a company incorporated and operating in Singapore, our primary consumer protection obligations are governed by Singapore’s Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003 (CPFTA) and its subsidiary legislation. Under the CPFTA:
- We will not engage in unfair practices, including making false or misleading representations about our Programs;
- We will not make unconscionable representations or take advantage of a consumer who is unable to protect their own interests;
- Consumers who have been subject to an unfair practice may seek a refund or other remedy by applying to the relevant tribunal;
- You may seek redress through the Small Claims Tribunals (for claims up to SGD $20,000) or the Consumer Association of Singapore (CASE) for mediation of disputes.
For more information on your rights under the CPFTA, visit www.case.org.sg or the Ministry of Trade and Industry at www.mti.gov.sg.
13.2 Australia — Australian Consumer Law (ACL)
For clients who are Australian consumers, our services come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (Competition and Consumer Act 2010, Cth, Schedule 2) that cannot be excluded:
- Services will be rendered with due care and skill;
- Services will be fit for the purpose for which they are purchased;
- Services will be provided within a reasonable time (where no timeframe is agreed).
Where our services fail to meet these guarantees, you are entitled to a remedy. For a major failure, you may cancel and receive a refund or compensation for the reduction in value. For a minor failure, we may re-supply the service or provide a partial refund.
For more information, contact the ACCC at www.accc.gov.au or your state consumer protection agency.
13.3 European Economic Area (including Norway) — EU Consumer Rights
For clients resident in the EEA or Norway, applicable EU consumer protection directives may provide additional rights, including a 14-day right of withdrawal from distance contracts. See Section 5 of this Policy for details on how this applies to digital content and services.
If you are an EEA consumer and believe we have not complied with applicable consumer law, you may contact your national consumer protection authority or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
13.4 United States
For US-based clients, consumer protection rights vary by state. We comply with applicable federal and state consumer protection laws. If you believe you have been subject to an unfair or deceptive practice, you may contact the Federal Trade Commission at www.ftc.gov or your state attorney general’s office.
14. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update or modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website with an updated “Last Updated” date. The policy in effect at the time of your purchase will govern your transaction. We encourage you to review this policy before each purchase.
